Not a financial question — more of a values question.

For me, growing up in a rental house that we got booted out of twice, I swore I'd own my own place before 35. Hit that at 32. The peace of mind is something you can't put a number on.

For others it's:
- Not wanting to "waste" rent money
- Providing stability for kids' schooling
- Building generational wealth
- Somewhere to retire to

Curious what drives everyone here. Also interested in hearing from people who consciously CHOOSE to rent long-term — I want to understand that perspective better.
